When my mother finished her first cross-stitched picture (a horse worked on matty), she went all the way across town to get it framed at the best framing store in town. The frame was great, but alack and alas, the work was not mounted properly, and the matty had stretched out of shape so that the straight line borders were wavy in parts.
Lesson learned. Needlework needs to be mounted and framed just right to bring out the beauty of your efforts.
